> Search open tabs in Chrome with Ctrl+Shift+A or @tabs, find bookmarks and history from the address bar, and search saved links and notes in one bar.

To search open tabs in Chrome, press `Ctrl + Shift + A` on Windows or Linux (`Command + Shift + A` on Mac), type part of the title or URL, and press Enter. From the address bar, `@tabs`, `@bookmarks` and `@history` (added in Chrome 108) do the same for each source.

This is for anyone with 30 tabs open who also needs pages and notes saved last week. Chrome finds what the browser stores; the last section shows one box for saved link sets and notes too.

## How do I search open tabs in Chrome?

Use Tab Search: it covers every window in your profile.

1. Press `Ctrl + Shift + A` (`Command + Shift + A` on Mac), or click the Tab Search button in the tab strip.
2. Type part of the tab's title or address.
3. Pick a result with the arrow keys and press Enter.

- **Missing button:** Settings, then Appearance, turn on "Show tab search button."
- **Edge:** `Ctrl + Shift + A` searches all Edge windows; InPrivate tabs appear only from an InPrivate window.
- **Brave:** the Search tabs button in the tab strip; with vertical tabs it is a magnifier at the top of the panel.

## How do I search bookmarks and history from the address bar?

Type a keyword, press Space, then search.

1. Press `Ctrl + L` (`Command + L` on Mac).
2. Type `@tabs`, `@bookmarks` or `@history`, then Space or Tab.
3. Type your words and pick a result. Example: you closed a pricing page last Tuesday; `@history pricing` brings it back.

| What you want | Windows and Linux | Mac |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Search open tabs | `Ctrl + Shift + A` | `Command + Shift + A` |
| Open full History | `Ctrl + H` | `Command + Y` |
| Open Bookmark Manager | `Ctrl + Shift + O` | `Command + Option + B` |
| Jump to the address bar | `Ctrl + L` or `Alt + D` | `Command + L` |

> **Note:** Built-in search matches titles and URLs only. It cannot find page text, why you saved a page, or a set of 8 research tabs you closed as one unit.

## How do I search saved links and notes from one command bar?

SuperCommands puts saved link collections, notes, snippets and to-dos behind one search box in Chrome, Edge and Brave.

1. Open the vendor pages, press `Alt + S`, type `c link`, choose **Current Tabs** and name it `vendor pricing`. Duplicate URLs are skipped.
2. In Properties, add the text shortcut `vendors`. Typing `c`, Space, `vendors` in the address bar reopens every tab.
3. Press `Alt + S`, type `c note` and write "Vendor B is cheapest past 50 seats, renewal due March." Save it in the same workspace.
4. Press `Alt + S` on any page and type `vendor`: the collection and the note both appear.

- **Narrow it:** `c n vendor` searches notes, `c l vendor` links, `c co client` workspace collections.
- **Across projects:** tag items `#renewals`, then type `#renewals` in `Alt + S`.
- **Limit:** collections store addresses only, not half-filled forms or web-app state.

> **Tip:** Name items the way you will search: `Q4 vendor pricing` beats `links 2`. Give hotkeys like `Alt + 1` only to the few items you open daily.

## Which one should you pick?

- Pick **`Ctrl + Shift + A`** if the page is open somewhere in your windows.
- Pick **`@history`** if you closed it recently and never saved it.
- Pick **SuperCommands** if you want saved tab sets and notes in one search; it is free and open source, and the local version is 100% free, forever.
- Pick **a dedicated tab manager** if hundreds of tabs outgrow search: see [how to organize hundreds of browser tabs](https://supercommands.com/blogs/how-to-organize-hundreds-of-browser-tabs-without-losing-them), [how to save all open tabs](https://supercommands.com/blogs/how-to-save-all-open-tabs-chrome) or [command palette extensions](https://supercommands.com/blogs/best-command-palette-extensions-chrome-edge-brave).
